Color Skin

The lustre and the color of the face can be differentiated namely: blue, yellow, red, pale and dark grey. Observation of the lustre of the face is to distinguish whether the complexion is bright and moist or dark and haggard. Different races people have different skin colors. However, a lustrous skin with natural color is considered normal.
The color and lustre of the face are the outward manifestation of the relative strength of blood and energy of the organs. Their changes often suggest various pathological conditions. According to energy concepts of Onnuri SuJok acupuncture, these observations of the face changes are valuable for diagnosing disease in the particular organ.
Indications of face discolorations;
If RED color that often indicates heat syndromes, which may be of the deficiency type or of excess type. When the face is red, it is a sign of a heat syndrome of excess type resulting from either exposure to exogenous pathogenic factors with the symptoms of fever, or hyperactivity of the organs. The presence of molar flush accompanied by tidal fever and night sweating suggests an interior heat syndrome due to deficiency of energy.
If PALE color, which indicates cold syndromes or of deficiency type and loss of blood. A bright white face with a puffy, bloated appearance is a sign of deficiency of energy. If the pale face is withered, it signifies blood deficiency.
If YELLOW color that indicates syndromes of deficiency type and damp syndromes. When the entire body including the face, eyes and skin is yellow, it could be jaundice. If yellowness tends toward bright orange, it is called stomach jaundice means resulting from damp heat. If the yellow is smoky dark, it is called liver jaundice resulting from either cold damp or long-term stagnation of blood. A pale yellow complexion without brightness is a sign of deficiency of both energy and blood.
A BLUE color indicates cold, painful syndromes, stagnation of blood and convulsions. A pale complexion with a blue tint is seen, a syndrome of excessive cold with the symptom of pain in epigastric and abdomen. Blue purplish face and lips with the intermittent pain in the pericardial region or behind the sternum are due to stagnation of heart blood. Blue purplish face and lips accompanied by high fever and violent movement of the limbs are signs of infantile convulsion.
If DARK GREY color then there is an indication of deficiency of kidney and blood stagnation too. But a pale and dark complexion accompanied with lumbar soreness and cold feet suggests insufficiency of bladder. A dark complexion without brightness, accompanied by scaly skin signifies prolonged stagnation of blood.
A lustrous and moist complexion indicates the disease is mild, less energy and blood deficient whilst a dark and haggard complexion suggests that the disease is severe and the prognosis is poor.
As to the clinical significance of the color of secretions and excretions such as nasal discharge, sputum, urine and vaginal discharge, those clear and white in color denotes deficiency and cold, while turbid and yellow in color indicate excess.
THUS the color alone itself indicates the symptoms of organs affected either in deficiency or in excessive energy.
 Onnuri SuJok acupuncture methods, from the simplest to complex ones, are self-sufficient for coping with any problem related either to skin or blood and obtaining a stable remission, even of chronic eczema or psoriasis or immunity to enhance. The methods are a natural way of treatment, and the process of normalisation of the patient’s state, beginning during treatment, goes on after the active intervention stopped.

  1. Dr,
    Nice article explaining the factors that determine the colour of the skin. I have a patient of mine – a baby girl – aged 2 years and 9 months who has been diagnosed with Crigler-Najjar syndrome (type 1) since birth. Her entire body is yellow including the face and her eyes are bright yellow in color. She has an elevated level of unconjugated bilirubin in the blood (around 38 while the normal value is 2 to 14). She was fine till the age of 2 years talking, running, playing etc. But suddenly the bilurubin level increased and now she cannot even sit. She is also not talking like before. She talks only very few words. She takes normal food and has no problem with her appetite. She is thin. Can u suggest a suitable treatment for her ?

smile, as sharing is caring! Enjoy.
