URINE – retention
Urine retention, also known as ischuria, manifested by passing difficult urination, a lack of ability to urinate with distending pain in lower abdomen and sometimes even blockage of urine. When there is a difficulty in urination and dripping of urine considered to be a mild disease, where the severe case considered being failure of urination with distention and feeling of urgency. It may be a common complication of benign prostatic hyperplasia, although the other cause by nerve dysfunction, constipation, infection or medications is the reason. It is all because of dysfunction in the meridian bladder according to the energy concept.
The increase in pressure in the bladder can also prevent urine entering from the ureters or urine to pass back up the ureters and in that case possibility of Hydronephrosis, kidney failure and sepsis.
In the longer period, urinary tract obstruction may cause the following:
Bladder stones
Atrophy of muscle
Hydronephrosis, hypertrophy of muscle, and diverticula, a formation of pouches in bladder wall that can lead to stones and infection.
There is an accumulation of heat in the bladder that impedes the qi function and leads to retention of urine. The bladder and the kidney, both the meridian are exteriorly-interiorly related. The main function of the bladder meridian depends upon the warming function of the kidney yang.
Accumulation of heat in the bladder: Main manifestations: Scanty hot urine or retention of urine, distention and fullness in the lower abdomen. There is a thirst but at the same time no desire to drink.
Decline of fire heat: Main manifestations: Dribbling urination, attenuating in force of the urine discharge, pallor, listlessness, chilliness below the lumber, weakness in knee and loins.
Damage of the qi of the meridian: Main manifestations: Dribbling urination or retention of urine, distension and dull pain in the lower abdomen, purplish spots on the tongue, hesitant, rapid pulse.
Urinary retention often occurs without warning. Normally, the disorder starts gradually but sometimes it may appear suddenly. Acute urinary retention is a medical emergency and requires prompt treatment. The pain can be excruciating when urine is not able to flow out. Moreover one can develop severe sweating, chest pain, anxiety and high blood pressure, and most likely to have symptoms similarly to shock like condition. It is not unusual for an individual to develop a heart attack after suffering acute urinary retention.

  1. Hello Mr. Kapur,
    the PDF contains the result of my blood the last half year! If u do not understand something, just ask!
    My kidney got broken only because of high blood pressure, the doc says! About half year ago, i tested my urine, so we could calculate only 10% filtering work of the kidney, but also the kidney do not produce enough urine, so i have to minimize drinking and put out the water with the machine!
    Medicine: I take while the comlete day 5 pills against high blood pressure, 1 * renal vitamine (because of dialisis), 2 pills against too high parathormone and 3 pills against phosphat in the food!
    Now how to start!

  2. My grand mother whose aorta is maximum blocked, and sometimes quite difficult to pass the urine with other complications that creates a lot uneasiness.
